the home of science, arts and inspiration

The Great Exhibition Road Festival is Back!

The Great Exhibition Road Festival is a free annual celebration of science and the arts each summer in South Kensington. Join us on 17-18 June 2023 to celebrate the power of awe and wonder to inspire us, motivate change and spark innovation, with a weekend of free science and arts events for all ages.

Enjoy hands-on workshops, fascinating talks, performances and installations from iconic museums, research and culture organisations, including Imperial College London, the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, V&A and many more. Visit what's on to see some of the amazing events throughout the weekend!

Meet scientists, engineers, artists and inventors and try out awesome activities especially created for families with children under 12 in the Family Fun zone. Make an amazing artwork, discover how powerful your jump is, build a tower, marvel at minibeasts, chill out with a story, spin the wheel, hook a duck - there’s lots for families to enjoy and discover together.

Or pop over to get a taste of sustainability, pick up recipe cards and get some top tips for reducing the carbon footprint of your mealtimes. Check out our chocolate fountain, where you can learn about fluid dynamics while indulging in delicious chocolate treats.

Before heading out, make sure to stop by the Demo Kitchen where you'll witness the latest culinary creations and techniques, as top chefs whip up dishes that you can sample right there and then! Explore new flavours and ingredients and learn how to make meals for both a healthy body and a healthy planet.

Plus, while you indulge in food from all over the world, you can enjoy eclectic performances from the Royal College of Music and Royal Albert Hall.

There's also a chance to dive into the age 18+ festival zone for some serious fun! From the art of corrosion to birdsong and hearing health, this zone is where science meets art to create a truly unique and inspiring experience for adults. In the grade II listed home of the Royal Geographical Society you can come face-to-face with people who fight environmental crises with a unique a photography exhibition before exploring the science of conservation, preservation and protecting art for future generations. After that get hands-on with science and art and try your hand at controlled corrosion by creating your own custom copper keychain to take home.

Plus, loads more events will be added to the website soon! To attend the Festival, please make sure to register for free. Registering is the only way to receive the latest Festival updates, a first look at the programme, and opportunities to book onto popular talks, creative workshops and tours.
