10am - 12.40pm
Natural History Museum
This event focuses on photography by starting at 10 am at the Natural History Museum for a curated tour of the 55th Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Students will have a chance to visit the annual exhibition which celebrates the 100 award-winning photographs illustrating the abundance, majesty, and vulnerability of life on our planet. Students will be able to find out more about how the competition is run, the selection of image and what makes a photograph a winner.
Students will then join a Fashion Photography insight talk over the road at the V&A at 12pm for 40 minutes. Tying in with the recently opened exhibition, Tim Walker: Wonderful Things, the talk will be a chance to hear from a professional fashion photographer and get top tips on how to make it in the industry.
The talk finishes at 12.40pm but we highly recommend a visit to the V&A's Photography Centre which was opened in October 2018 and features some of museum's collection which has grown to be international in scope and comprises over 300,000 images dating from 1839 to the present.
