No trip to the museum is complete without paying our mighty dinosaurs a visit. From the Triassic, Jurassic and beyond, discover the story of nature's largest beasts, told through their fossilised remains. Sort facts from fiction and roar with our ‘living’ T.rex as you step into the world of these prehistoric giants.

No visit is complete to the Museum without a trip to the magnificent Hintze Hall. Walk beneath the largest animal on Earth, the blue whale. Wander among stunning displays that reflect the story of evolution, diversity in the world today and our role in creating a sustainable future.
General Visiting
V&A South Kensington is open daily from 10:00–17:45 (last entry 17:15) and Fridays from 10:00–22:00 (some galleries open after 17:45). There is no need to pre-book a ticket for free entry to the museum. Some exhibitions and events carry a separate charge. We are closed 24 – 26 December.

The Porter Gallery
Get your ticket to Design and Disability before it closes on 15 February. Both a celebration and a call to action, Design and Disability showcases the radical contributions of Disabled, Deaf, and neurodivergent people and communities to design history and contemporary culture, from the 1940s to now.

Free Space Gallery
Level 0
Our new out-of-this-gallery celebrating human achievements in space is now open, where you can walk among iconic spacecraft and out-of-this-world objects. Must-see exhibits include the radio headset used by Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong to communicate with Mission Control, the Sokol spacesuit worn by first Briton in Space Helen Sharman and, in a world first, two human flown spacecraft (Apollo 10 and Soyuz) displayed next to each other.

We’ve been observing the tradition of Afternoon Tea for over 100 years, even serving royalty with a visit from Queen Elizabeth II for the 100th anniversary of the Women’s Institute. Our menu features classic finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and a delicious spread of cakes. The star of the show is the tea itself – with 11 blends on offer. Our special £22 lunch menu is available from midday to 3pm on non-matinee days, so please do check our opening days and times beforehand.
