Celebrating Design in South Ken |
As part of the London Design Festival, South Kensington's cultural district is celebrating design this week with the centre of the Festival based at the V&A. Running until 26th September, the programme focuses on design thinking in the challenge of climate change and includes a pavilion constructed from the world's lowest carbon footprint aluminium, a real-time growing couture gown worn by an artist robot and former stones from the V&A making a comeback as street furniture.
The Brompton Design District is also hosting a pop-up programme of exhibits presenting new and experimental designs with the theme 'From Here Onwards' following a year that has challenged us to think differently.
And finally, the first in-person V&A Lates in over a year is returning this Friday!
