Science, Art and International Women’s Day in South Kensington

As the days grow longer, South Kensington embraces the season with a vibrant mix of film, science and exciting new exhibitions.

At the Science Museum, Star Trek at 60 marks six decades of the legendary franchise. Special events, themed Lates, and a dedicated film season explore its enduring cinematic and cultural impact. Fans can get closer to the universe that shaped generations with displays of iconic props and exclusive anniversary merchandise.

International Women’s Day also takes centre stage across the neighbourhood. On 8th March, Anna Lapwood performs at the Royal Albert Hall, celebrating female composers in one of the city’s most historic venues. The Royal Sculptors Society presents Deep Veins at Brompton Cemetery on 7th – 8th March, a powerful exhibition set in the chapel that showcases the work of women sculptors alongside art and history. Meanwhile, the V&A South Kensington explores artistic innovation in Lasting Impressions: Women Printmakers 1900 – Now, highlighting the creativity and influence of women in printmaking.

Science fiction, music, sculpture, and design bring South Kensington to life this spring, with exhibitions and events unfolding throughout the season.
