What’s On This Spring in South Kensington
Spring is beginning to unfold across South Kensington, bringing a new season of exhibitions, stories and discoveries that span art, history and culture.
Opening on 12th March at the Serpentine, David Hockney: A Year in Normandie presents an extraordinary 90-metre frieze capturing the changing seasons of the French countryside. Created on an iPad during the pandemic, the work unfolds like a continuous landscape, offering a quiet reflection on time, nature and observation.
From 21st March, Leighton House turns the spotlight on one of London’s most celebrated interiors with The Arab Hall: Past and Present. Through a specially commissioned film, three contemporary installations and an accompanying exhibition featuring new research, visitors can explore the history and continuing influence of this remarkable space.
With Mother’s Day approaching, it’s also a lovely time to plan a cultural day out together. Discover a new exhibition, take a walk through the area’s parks and hidden corners, or simply enjoy the neighbourhood as spring begins to arrive.
