The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Emblem at the V&A
Between 1 - 15 June, the V&A will display Edward Roberts’ winning design for the official emblem for Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, alongside the nine other shortlisted entries from a national
competition run by the V&A, in conjunction with Buckingham Palace last year. The competition, open to young people between 13 and 25 from all over the United Kingdom, asked entrants to design an emblem to signify Her Majesty’s historic, seventy-year reign, and capture the spirit of the national festivities.
Albert's Band: A Jubilant Jubilee

Platinum Jubilee Art Exhibition
A bold new collection celebrating events or moments of historical, personal or local significance from the past 70 years of The Queen’s reign will open at Kensington Town Hall. The Jubilee Collection will feature art produced by both amateur and professional artists of all ages who live, work or study in the borough. An independent selection panel, chaired by the Mayor, reviewed and selected the final collection which will open to the general public in July. Exhibited in the Civic Gallery, the collection will showcase the exceptional talent and thriving arts scene within the borough.
Jubilee Square opens a New Space for Locals
On 25 May, the courtyard between Kensington Town Hall and Kensington Central Library was inaugurated as Jubilee Square. The naming of this space celebrates the Platinum Jubilee as well as officially naming the area as a dedicated space for local people to enjoy. The area is also intended as a dedicated events space for local groups to hire. The celebrations were led by the Mayor and Lead Members.
Street Parties
People around the country will be gathering over Jubilee weekend to celebrate our longest reigning monarch, and in Kensington and Chelsea there will be street parties galore throughout the extended bank holiday. Street events of all shapes and sizes are organised throughout the borough and while most of these are private events between neighbours, there are two public events taking place. Make sure you look out for road closures. Here is a round-up of some of the Borough's local events and some of the national Jubilee events.
Spot the best Jubilee Display to Win
Shops throughout the borough will be busy creating imaginative Jubilee window displays and fantastic Jubilee-themed products and services throughout June. If you spot Kensington and Chelsea’s best Jubilee offering and take a photo, post it on social media using #RBKCJubilee, and you could be in with a chance to win a luxury Fortnum & Mason hamper.
