How to get here while South Ken station is closed

Over the next few months there will be several planned closures at South Kensington Tube Station so here are all the dates you need to help you plan your journey to minimise disruption.

The planned engineering works are all part of the essential works to the Piccadilly Line escalators (the Piccadilly Line is not stopping at South Kensington until Spring 2022) and essential track renewals on parts of the District and Circle line. There is more information available on the TfL website. This means that South Kensington station will be closed on the following dates:

  • 31 July - 1 Aug,
  • 4-12 Aug
  • 4-5 Sept
  • 18-19 Sept

Knightsbridge, High Street Kensington, Earl's Court (step-free) and Lancaster Gate are all within walking and cycling distance of the museums and Exhibition Road. There is plenty of bike parking on Exhibition Road.  Frequent bus services will run between South Kensington and Knightsbridge station on routes 14, 74, 414 and C1. To find the best route, visit the Tfl Go App
